Art Show

Hannah had one of her school art projects chosen to be on display at the Carroll Arts Center this month. We went to a reception for the artists last week and saw her work.

Winter

This week we've seen snow, then ice, then more snow. Schools have been closed for three days now. The sledding was great yesterday and today. Here are some pics from our neighborhood.

Snow Day

Winter has been rather warm here this year until the last few weeks. This week we've seen temps in the single digits with wind chills in the negatives. And, today we finally got our first snow day. That's right, no school today due to several inches of snow that accumulated during the night and early this morning. The girls wore their pjs inside out last night, but I think this all had more to do with some artic air and moisture. There was celebration at our house this morning.

Mom, the new sleds are great. Thanks!

New Car

Here it is . . .

Grand Theft Auto: part 2

During the month that we were waiting for news on our van, Lance begin seriously looking at, researching, and test driving cars. We really liked the GMC Envoy and the Honda Pilot, so we began looking around for a nice used one. I am now driving a Pilot. Yes, it has an anti-theft system. Once the van is repaired we will take it to the Honda dealership, they gave us a good trade in on it. I love the Pilot, but I'll miss my van.

Grand Theft Auto: part 1

My van was stolen on January 6th, found on the 14th, and we were notified by certified letter on the 26th that it was at the impound lot in Baltimore. I guess with over 4,000 vehicles at the impound, the best they can do is let you know two weeks after the fact that your vehicle has been recovered.

Since you can get no information about your vehicle by phone, we drove over to look at the van on Saturday. That was an educational trip. Let's just say that it was best that the girls and I stayed in the car (with the doors locked) while Lance stood in line to show his ID and get into the lot to look at the van. He found it in pretty good shape, nothing visibly damaged except the ignition that had been hot wired, and a back window that had been pried open. Of course, everything we had left in the van was gone. The only thing they didn't steel was Chloe's car seat. It had been unbuckled from the seat and placed in the back of the van. Thanks. We had the van towed to a shop in Westminster where it sits now waiting to be repaired.
